Lophophora williamsii are very slow growing, small, spineless cacti that originate out of Mexico and Texas. They are used to growing in the most arid of regions and have adapted to requiring very little water to survive.

Largely due to over harvesting in their natural habitat, Peyote have become an endangered species in the wild.

For seeds, best germination is Takeaway Tek. Substrate mix should be a 50/50 (organic / inorganic) mix, perlite can be used as the inorganic medium.

Lophophora Care

  • Substrate: Very gritty mix with little to no organic material
  • Watering: Spring to Autumn (April to September), infrequently
  • Light: Natural or artificial (while young), South facing window or greenhouse
